Obituary:

Major General Hugh Robinson (ret), age 78, passed away at his home in Desoto, Texas on March 1, 2010.


He was born August 4, 1932 in Washington, D.C. He was a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point. Hugh also earned a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He served in the United States Army from 1954-83. Among his many awards he received the Legion of Merit and Bronze Star. He also served as personal military aide to President Lyndon Johnson. After retirement he served in a variety of executive positions with numerous corporations in the area and also served on the Board of Directors of many others. Hugh is survived by his bride of twelve years, Paula Raymond-Robinson and his stepchildren by that marriage Clifton Tisdale-Brown, Marquel Russell and Chelsie Raymond. Hugh is also survived by his former wife Matilda Robinson and by their daughter from that marriage, Mia Lane, granddaughter Indya Lane and grandson Omar Spence. Hugh was predeceased by his deceased wife Paula McLure-Robinson.

Funeral services will be held on March 6, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Potter’s House, 6777 W. Kiest Blvd, Dallas, Texas 75236. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
