Obituary:


Don Black, age 82, of Waxahachie, passed away Wednesday, March 03, 2010 at Baylor Medical Center in Waxahachie. He was born April 3, 1927 in Fort Worth, TX to Joseph Benjamin and Velma Elizabeth (Trantham) Black. Don served in the U. S. Navy during WWII. He married Anna Laura Knipp in McGregor, TX. He was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Waxahachie. Don was a very active and loving father.

Survivors include his son, Daniel Black of Waxahachie; one sister, Karen Montgomery and husband Monty of Dallas; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Black of Santa Fe, TX and Liz Black of Hurst, TX and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Anna Laura Black; three brothers, Ben Black, Neil Black and Dan black; one sister, Flora Jean Black; three half brothers, Frank, Clyde and Leonard and three half sisters, Grace Trantham, Nettie Morris and Josie Bell Black.

Establish the flag line 30 minutes before the start of the Memorial Service. Shortly after the service begins we will break down the flag line and prepare for the funeral procession to Sardis Cemetery.
