Obituary Highlights:

Charles Edward "Chuck" Katlic, Jr., 91, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away Saturday, August 2, 2014. Charles Edward Katlic, Jr. was born January 8, 1923 to Charles A. and Mary Novak Katlic in Millersville, Maryland. He proudly served in the United States Army as a Sgt. and served during WWII, fighting valiantly in the Battle of the Bulge. Chuck was a life member of VFW American Legion, Combat Infrantrymen's Assoc., D. A. V., 99th Div. Assoc. He also served two terms as president of Trinity Lutheran Church. Chuck worked for the U. S. Coast Guard as Chief Supply Officer.

He volunteered for most of his life with the VFW and American Legion and was instrumental in dedicating many Veteran's parks and decorating with flags on all military holidays. One of his proudest days was in 2013 when the street leading to the American Legion Hall was renamed in his honor as Chuck Katlic Lane.

Mission Summary:

The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to stand a Flag Line at Trinity Lutheran Church by the Family and Friends of SGT Charles (Chuck) E. Katlic, Jr., a very well-known Weatherford, TX Veteran of WW II. Following the service there will be a Procession to the Whitt Cemetery.

Details Of Part 1:

After setting the flags and conducting the briefing, the PGR will stand the Flag Line for this American Hero. After the service begins, the Ride Captain will make the decision when to remove the Flags and take them to the support vehicle. The flags will be furled, riders will be given a safety briefing before the procession to the Town of Whitt, TX, for interment at the Whitt Cemetery.

Procession and Interment at Whitt Cemetery

Details Of Part 2:

The procession will be led by PGR, with ALR and VFW riders. But, once we arrive at Whitt, TX, we will stop and turn the Veteran over to a Horse Drawn Caisson. The PGR will proceed to the Cemetery and prepare for the arrival of Friends and Family. After the service, the riders will furl the flags, debrief, and be dismissed.

- Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for this patriot and their family. NO TALKING, SMOKING, CHEWING OF TOBACCO PRODUCTS, OR CELL PHONE USE IN THE FLAG LINE!

This Cemetery has Dirt/Gravel roads. Randy could use help with flags at the Cemetery that is about 20 miles northwest of Weatherford, TX.
