James Alvin Gibbons passed from this life on August 6, 2014. He was born in Dallas, Texas, on August 31, 1924 to Robert A. and Daisy Gibbons. He married the love of his life, Betty Lee Clark Gibbons, on April 17, 1945, after seeing her only four times. They were married for 60 years and she preceded him in death in 2005. He was a member of the greatest generation. James proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II from 1942 to 1945.…

Mission Summary:
|
The family has asked the PGR to stand a flag line at the
funeral service, participate in the procession from the
chapel to the cemetery, and to stand a flag line there for
the interment service.

Details Of Part 1:
|
Riders will stage at the funeral home to be briefed and to
stand tall and silent as family and friends arrive. After
the service begins, flags will be returned to the support
vehicle. Riders will then receive a safety briefing, honor
bikes will be selected, and all riders staged for the
procession to the cemetery.

Details Of Part 2:
|
Those riders not participating in Part One will stage at the
cemetery to await the arrival of the procession. Riders in
the procession will quickly dismount and join the flag line.
Riders will stand tall and silent until the completion of
the service, after which flags will be returned to the flag
vehicle. Riders will then be debriefed and dismissed. NOTE:
The cemetery is a short distance from the funeral home. Time
of service is not exact.

Dress In A Manner Appropriate For Attending A Funeral
Service.
- Iron horses if you can, cages are always
welcome and appreciated.
- Safety First: Please
remember to properly hydrate (including the night before)
before any outdoor activity and to dress appropriately. Do
not hesitate to take a break at any time if you feel you
need to get in the shade or get indoors and always ask for
help at any time. Also please do not forget your sun screen.
