Obituary Highlights:

Steve York, 67, was called home by our Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 24, 2014. Steve was born on September 23, 1946 in Dallas, Texas to Raymond and Vonda York. He was the eldest of three children. Steve met the love of his life, Janie Butler, and they married January, 13, 1968. He proudly served as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He owned several small businesses throughout his life but was best known for owning York's Wrecker Service in Red Oak.

The Family Has Asked The PGR To Stand A Flag Line For His Inurnment Service At DFW National Cemetery.

Details Of Part 1:

Riders will stage at 0930, Aug. 11, 2014, at DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy. Four Honor Bikes will be selected and after the briefing, when the shelter is clear, please proceed to Shelter B, set the flag line, and wait for the procession to arrive. After the service has ended, we will furl the flags, return them to storage, and riders will be dismissed.

Comments:

- DRESS CODE: Please Dress In A Manner Appropriate For Attending A Funeral Service.

- Iron horses if you can, cages are always welcome and appreciated.

- Safety First: Please remember to properly hydrate (including the night before) before any outdoor activity and to dress appropriately. Do not hesitate to take a break at any time if you feel you need to get in the shade or get indoors and always ask for help at any time. Also please do not forget your sun screen.

- Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for this patriot and their family. NO TALKING, SMOKING, CHEWING OF TOBACCO PRODUCTS, OR CELL PHONE USE IN THE FLAG LINE!

- We will park along the main street close to the designated shelter with 2 bikes side by side as close to the curb and each other as possible so that traffic can get by.

- Riders NOT UTILIZING HANDICAPPED PARKING are requested to park as far forward as possible at the Visitor's Center to keep the closest spaces available for other guests.

- Cemeteries are hallowed ground. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Show our respect to ALL who are there, not just the one we are honoring.
