Obituary Highlights:

John Spurlock, 81, passed away at Trinity Mission in Italy on Aug. 17, 2014. He was born in Crockett, Texas on Jan. 13, 1933 to J.W. and Gladys Spurlock. John’s many occupations were carpenter, Midlothian Police Officer (1971-1973) and security officer for Mid-Tex. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. John and Bonnie met while at a picture show and married after only eight dates.

The family of Mr. Spurlock has asked the North Texas Patriot Guard Riders to stand a Flag Line at his funeral service, accompany him on one last ride, and again stand a Flag Line at his interment service

After the Mission Briefing the Riders will establish the Flag Line and prepare to receive the family and guests for the funeral service. When the service begins, the Riders will received the Safety Briefing and prepare to accompany the procession to the cemetery.

After arriving with the procession, the Riders will dismount and establish the Flag Line to receive the family and guests for the inurnment service. At the conclusion of the service, the Riders will return the flags to the support vehicle, be debriefed and dismissed.
