Obituary Highlights:
|
SSGT Robert G. Standley (Bob), 79 died at Plano Medical Center in Plano TX on Monday, August 25, 2014. He was born in Kansas in 1934.
Bob served in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War and Vietnam. He married Joyce Falter on October 7, 1956. Bob has lived full time in TX since 1978 (36 years). He was talented in electronics from the “old” stuff to modern computers and printers. He was never fully retired as he had an entrepreneurial spirit about him and was always involved in a project.
His next love was flying. When he was young, he treasured his time spent in his Piper Cub soaring over the vast prairie of the SD Badlands. In his later years, he worked for the power company and checked the pipeline through downtown Dallas while flying 50’ off the ground.
