CPL Goolsby joined the Marine Corp Jan 5th 1968 just after
graduating from high school and served thru Dec 27th 1973.
While assigned to the 9th Marine Amphibious Brigade,
Battalion Landing Team 1/13 Command CPL Goolsby was sent to
Vietnam where he served 13 months before coming home to
complete his two year active duty enlistment and then
re-enlisted in the Marine Corp Reserves in Kansas City, MO.
CPL Goolsby completed his time in the Marines stationed at
Naval Station Treasure Island, San Francisco, CA. In
recognition of his deeds of valor and heroic conduct while
in combat, CPL Goolsby was awarded the RVN Cross of
Gallantry w/Palm. For CPL Goolsby acts involving direct
participation in combat operations and his exposure to
personal hazards due to direct hostile actions was awarded
the Navy Achievement Medal w/ “V”, the National Defense
Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat
Action Ribbon and Rifle Sharpshooters Badge.

The four selected Honor Bikes will stage at the Funeral Home
in Denison. After the safety briefing, we will proceed for
the long drive to DFW National Cemetery. We will have local
escort service provide for escort until we get out of
Denison and on to Hwy 121. Once we arrive at DFW National
Cemetery, we will stage in Lane A.

Riders will stage at the information center for the briefing
and verification of the shelter location. After completion
of the briefing, riders will move to the Shelter A and post
the flags. Once the flags are in place, riders will stand
tall and silent as they wait for the family and friends of
CPL Goolsby arrive.

- DRESS CODE: Please Dress In A Manner Appropriate For
Attending A Funeral Service.
- Iron horses if you
can, cages are always welcome and appreciated.

Safety First: Please remember to properly hydrate (including
the night before) before any outdoor activity and to dress
appropriately. Do not hesitate to take a break at any time
if you feel you need to get in the shade or get indoors and
always ask for help at any time. Also please do not forget
your sun screen.
- Please remember that our mission
is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for
this patriot and their family. NO TALKING, SMOKING, CHEWING
OF TOBACCO PRODUCTS, OR CELL PHONE USE IN THE FLAG LINE!
- We will park along the main street close to the
designated shelter with 2 bikes side by side as close to the
curb and each other as possible so that traffic can get by.
- Riders NOT UTILIZING HANDICAPPED PARKING are requested
to park as far forward as possible at the Visitor's Center
to keep the closest spaces available for other guests.
- Let's always remember to keep the motorcycle and voice
noise to a minimum when arriving and leaving the shelters.
- Cemeteries are hallowed ground. Please keep radios off
and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed
limit. Show our respect to ALL who are there, not just the
one we are honoring.
