He was named Chairman of the Humanities Department there, directed both the Port Angeles and Port Townsend Community Choruses, the PALOA Chorus and numerous church choirs. He was committed to continuing education, earning his Bachelor’s, Masters and Doctorate (Ed.D) degrees from North Texas State University (now UNT). In 1986 he and Nancy returned to Texas. They lived in Houston, Mt. Enterprise and the Denton area, teaching and performing with various groups including the Denton Bach Society. He became a resident of Sterling House in 2011 and continued to lead musical activities there. A long-time Rotarian, Marvin was voted President of the Henderson Chapter, where he was also named “Rotarian Of The Year,” and remained a devoted member of Rotary Denton South until his passing.
