SGT Cantrell joined the US Air Force August 1969 and served
Honorably thru May 1973. During his time on Active duty he
was assigned to the Air Force Technical Applications Center,
a part of the Air Force intelligence surveillance. AFTAC is
the leading edge of technological research and the
evaluation of verification technologies for current and
future treaties involving weapons of mass destruction that
threaten national security while in Vietnam. Sgt Cantrell
was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Air
Force Good Conduct Medal

Edward “Ray” Cantrell, 65, was born to Travis and the late Mary Evelyn Cantrell on January 30, 1949. Ray grew up in the Arlington area along with his two younger brothers, Gene and Jerry and one younger sister, Cindy. He graduated from Arlington High School (Class of 1967) and obtained an accounting degree from the University of Texas at Arlington.

Upon arrival at the Crossroads Church on Hwy 360 in Grand
Prairie, we will conduct the briefing and then post flags
outside the church. After the service begins at 1100, we
will furl the flags and prepare for the procession to DFW
National Cemetery. After the safety briefing, we will
identify four honor bikes and then stage riders for the
procession to DFW National. The departure from the church
will leave at approximately 1300, so we will have time for
break before leaving. A Private Escort Service will be
provided for our safe travel to DFW National Cemetery.

can, cages are always welcome and appreciated.

Safety First: Please remember to properly hydrate (including
the night before) before any outdoor activity and to dress
appropriately. Do not hesitate to take a break at any time
if you feel you need to get in the shade or get indoors and
always ask for help at any time. Also please do not forget
your sun screen.
- Please remember that our mission
is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for
this patriot and their family. NO TALKING, SMOKING, CHEWING
OF TOBACCO PRODUCTS, OR CELL PHONE USE IN THE FLAG LINE!
- We will park along the main street close to the
designated shelter with 2 bikes side by side as close to the
curb and each other as possible so that traffic can get by.
- Riders NOT UTILIZING HANDICAPPED PARKING are requested
to park as far forward as possible at the Visitor's Center
to keep the closest spaces available for other guests.
- Let's always remember to keep the motorcycle and voice
noise to a minimum when arriving and leaving the shelters.
- Cemeteries are hallowed ground. Please keep radios off
and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed
limit. Show our respect to ALL who are there, not just the
one we are honoring.
