Obituary Highlights:
|
Ernest Leroy Hudson, 88, of Commerce, was born May 20, 1926. He was 1 of 9 children born to Mr. & Mrs. James Hudson of Kiowa, Oklahoma. He went to be with his Lord and Savior Christ Jesus on Thursday, July 10, 2014. He grew up during those difficult days of the Depression. At the young age of 17, Ernie voluntarily joined the US Navy during WW2, where he served in the South Pacific aboard the USS Niobrara (AO-72). After the war ended, he moved to California where he met and married his beloved wife Virginia (Jenny) Harris in 1951. While living in California, they had 4 children. His company there transferred him to Texas where he worked and retired from Amerdyne Ind. in Garland. They eventually settled north of Commerce near Jardin where he farmed and ranched since 1978. He could not stand retirement; so, when US Brass started he became the 13th employee hired in Commerce. He retired for the 2nd time after many years.
