Obituary Highlights:

Joseph W. Spaniel, 82, died peacefully after a lengthy illness surrounded by his family in Dallas, Texas on Tuesday, July 15, 2014. Joe was born in Ennis, Texas on December 19, 1931 to Joseph L. and Agnes (Vrana) Spaniel. He graduated from St. John High School after which time he served as a corporal in the United States Army during the Korean War and was awarded two Bronze Service Stars. On August 3, 1957 he married Mary Jane Lenart of West, Texas and they made their home in Dallas and later settled in Waxahachie. Joe was employed for thirty-five years as an aircraft mechanic with Braniff International Airways and Dalfort Aviation Service. He also engaged in farming throughout his life. He was a member of the KJT, VFW, American Legion and was a life-long member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church.

Details Of Part 1:

The Riders will receive the Mission Brief and establish a Flag Line to receive the family and friends of Mr. Spaniel. When the Mass of Christian Burial begins, the flags will be returned to the support vehicle, which will depart for the cemetery. The Riders will then receive the Safety Briefing and prepare to accompany the procession to the cemetery. Escort will be provided by the Ennis Police Department

Upon arrival at the cemetery, the Riders will dismount and stand the Flag Line for the interment ceremony. When directed, the Riders will furl the flags, return them to the support vehicle, and be dismissed

- Iron horses if you can, cages are always welcome and appreciated.

- Safety First: Please remember to properly hydrate (including the night before) before any outdoor activity and to dress appropriately. Do not hesitate to take a break at any time if you feel you need to get in the shade or get indoors and always ask for help at any time. Also please do not forget your sun screen.

- Cemeteries are hallowed ground. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Show our respect to ALL who are there, not just the one we are honoring.

DRESS CODE: Please Dress In A Manner Appropriate For Riding a Motorcycle
