Served from 1942 to 1967. He was assigned to a B-17 Bomber Squadron and worked as a bottom turret gunner on the B-17. He was not assigned to a specific crew, but was a fill-in for other crews whose turret gunners had made the ultimate sacrifice for their country. He flew in every active engagement the U.S. was involved in up until the early 60's.

Mission Summary:

The PGR has been asked to ride in the procession from the funeral home to DFW National Cemetery. We will have an escort service for traffic control. Those riders that will not be in the procession will meet at DFW National Cemetery per PART 2 in the Mission Itinerary.

Riders will stage at the DFW National Cemetery Information Center at 10:30 for a 10:45 briefing and a 10:50 KSU to the appropriate Shelter to set flags and await the arrival of MSgt Ralph Hollibaugh.

- DRESS CODE: Please Dress In A Manner Appropriate For Attending A Funeral Service.

- Iron horses if you can, cages are always welcome and appreciated.

- Safety First: Please remember to properly hydrate (including the night before) before any outdoor activity and to dress appropriately. Do not hesitate to take a break at any time if you feel you need to get in the shade or get indoors and always ask for help at any time. Also please do not forget your sun screen.

- Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for this patriot and their family. NO TALKING, SMOKING, CHEWING OF TOBACCO PRODUCTS, OR CELL PHONE USE IN THE FLAG LINE!

- We will park along the main street close to the designated shelter with 2 bikes side by side as close to the curb and each other as possible so that traffic can get by.

- Riders NOT UTILIZING HANDICAPPED PARKING are requested to park as far forward as possible at the Visitor's Center to keep the closest spaces available for other guests.

- Let's always remember to keep the motorcycle and voice noise to a minimum when arriving and leaving the shelters.

- Cemeteries are hallowed ground. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Show our respect to ALL who are there, not just the one we are honoring.
