This Was A Special Escort Requiring ONLY Four Riders From North Texas. SGT Deitz Was Escorted From The Funeral Home In Colorado Springs To Denver International Airport By The Colorado PGR, Then Met On The Tarmac At Dallas Love Field By North Texas PGR, Who Escorted Him And His Family To Canton, Where We Were Joined By A Contingent Of East Texas Riders. As The Escort Got Closer To Henderson, They Were Joined By Yet More East Texas Riders. A Great Mission Showing Cooperation Between PGR Units And Demonstrating How We Feel About Our Patriots!

Weather Conditions:	Weather was a tad hot. The breeze helped as did the shade trees at the funeral home.

First of all I want to personally thank everyone who attended this mission. A personal "thank you" goes to Bill "Wild Bill" May for water and flags on short notice. After the riders briefing, riders stood the flag line to welcome family and guest to the service. After the service started, we broke down the flag line and waited for the escort to begin. Escort service arrived as we were about to depart for DFW National. From my vantage point the procession looked good. Only one small glitch. Someone got a little close to our DSC. I understand Mike was a little miffed. We arrived at DFW National Cemetery and Floyd had flags flying. Again, "thanks" to Floyd. The Family was amazed that so many riders were there to honor this hero.

Weather Conditions:	It was a beautiful day but was really hot. Thanks to the support truck for being there and providing us with lots of cold water

Once more the Patriot Guard was there. We formed a flag line and stood tall and proud in Honor of this Marine. We had a very short notice mission and I am thankful to the men and women who took the time to stand for this U.S. Marine.

To the family members, I say " Thank you" for asking us to be a small part of the Memorial service for your husband, father and grandfather.

Weather Conditions:	It was hot in Dallas at the airport but cooled off nicely by the time we got into East Texas.

Provided escort from Dallas Love Field to Henderson, Tx Funeral Home. Southwest plane arrived on time at 7:00p. Ft. Hood honor Guard unloaded the body and loaded it into the coach for the trip to Henderson. Sr. RC Larry Key, Mike Upchurch, Harold Tranter, & Tracy Nix began the escort from the tarmac at gate 2. The trip through Dallas went extremely well. When we got to Canton, Texas, the ETPGR joined in with 6 more bikes. Larry continued on to Henderson, the remaining three turned around and went back to Dallas. When we arrived in Kilgore, the second group from ETPGR joined for the final leg of the escort, along with LEO support all the way to the funeral home. By the time we got to Henderson we had a procession line of over 100 vehicles stretching over 6 miles behind the coach. When we arrived into Henderson several more Leo joined in. It was an awesome site. Lights went on forever. The family was blown away by the out pouring of love and support for their loss. Mary, (wife), addressed the entire group after we arrived. There wasn't a dry eye in the crowd. The family wanted me to thank everyone for their support. I want to thank everyone for making this mission such a success. A successful mission is one that is totally completed without accident. So, successful mission. See you next mission.

I want to thank Mary and her family for allowing us the honor of honoring her fallen Hero. They are a sweet hearted family. I wish them all the best. God Bless them.

PGR MISSION STATEMENT The Patriot Guard Riders is a diverse amalgamation of riders from across the nation. We have one thing in common besides motorcycles. We have an unwavering respect for those who risk their very lives for America’s freedom and security. If you share this respect, please join us. We don’t care what you ride or if you ride, what your political views are, or whether you’re a hawk or a dove. It is not a requirement that you be a veteran. It doesn't matter where you’re from or what your income is; you don’t even have to ride. The only prerequisite is Respect. Our main mission is to attend the funeral services of fallen American heroes as invited guests of the family. Each mission we undertake has two basic objectives: Show our sincere respect for our fallen heroes, their families, and their communities. Shield the mourning family and their friends from interruptions created by any protestor or group of protestors. We accomplish the latter through strictly legal and non-violent means. To those of you who are currently serving and fighting for the freedoms of others, at home and abroad, please know that we are backing you. We honor and support you with every mission we carry out, and we are praying for a safe return home for all.
