Joyce and I would like to offer our heartfelt thanks to each member of the Patriot Guard the participated in the services for Earnest Cooley. We were overwhelmed with emotion as we arrived at the shelter as we saw you and your compatriots standing tall to honor Mr. Cooley. The compassion and deference the Guard shows in respecting veterans is amazing.

First and foremost, you guys are a class act.

You will never know how much it meant to us for your presence today for Dad's service. Mom cherishes the certificate you all presented to her at the church today. You all have such compassion and truly care about our Veterans and their families. We cannot say thank you enough. I am certain Dad is smiling down from Heaven for such honors today. He was more than deserving of the honors....my hero didn't wear a cape, he wore combat boots :)

From all of us....THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH for all you did today. We pray your journey home was safe and everyone is dry tonight and in their beds resting a peaceful night's sleep. God bless each of you.

Best to you always,

Aloha,

I was reflecting on my Grandfather today, TSgt Bob Smith, USAF(RET), and I found the Patriot Guard site today with your name as the Ride Captain for his funeral. I wanted to extend my thanks to you and the others who are committed to this service. I know that the funeral service that day was extremely cold and the ride could not have been an easy one with the wind. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to be there, but it meant a lot to me and my family for your kind gesture! Thank you for honoring him and other vets in this way. It means a lot, and I’m sure that myself and the other families that receive this blessing will always remember the thoughtfulness.

Mahalo,
Grandson of TSgt Bob Smith

I wanted to write and say thank you to everyone involved in the visitation and funeral of my dad, Billy John Denison. Today, as we drove up to the funeral home, there were so many of you wonderful Patriot Guards, and there were American flags everywhere -- it was an awesome site, and it meant the world to my mother and the rest of my family. We were so proud of my dad, who served in the United States Army for 22 years -- and I can't thank you all enough for showing such abounding respect for him and to us.

I would like to send a special thank you out to the gentleman who presented my mother with a framed certificate of service with my dad's name on it -- and also to the man who put his safety on the line in order to stop traffic when the funeral procession was on their way to the cemetery.

Our sincere gratitude to you all -- we can't thank you enough for what you do!

Sincerely,

North Texas Patriot Guard Riders

On behalf of my wife Carol and myself, please accept our sincere thanks and appreciation for providing such outstanding support at her uncle's (LT Bruce Dailey, US Army Air Corps) internment at the Greenwood Cemetery on March 8th, 2016.

Having served in the military from 1969 through 2007, I have participated in many military funerals and casualty notifications. It has always been difficult but, an honor to recognize the military service of our veterans as they are laid to rest. It is at these times that the families and loved ones need to see that their service member's contributions to their country made a difference and are greatly appreciated. There is nothing more meaningful than having military personnel, past and present, to pay tribute to the service member and honoring their service.

Please pass on our sincere thanks to the entire team that supported this interment, especially in light of the rain which they endured as they paid their final respects and honor.

I can't begin to express to you just how grateful our family is that you and your riders came out to give our father, husband, son, brother and grandfather his final salute. He was a proud man and LOVED his country. He was very outspoken about the current runnings' of our country and he didn't care if others did or did not agree with him. But he supported anyone with their opinions and thoughts because he believed that's what the military stood for, freedom. He may not have ever had the chance to serve in any wars but I know many of the men/women he trained did. We as a Military Family would like to offer you thanks as well for your service to our country and the generosity you showed our family when we laid our loved [one] to rest. Thank you so much.

It has been 10 days now since we had the service for Joseph Doctor and I have been trying desperately to come up with the right words for the feelings I have for all of you. There is no real way to express my gratitude to all of you. I never felt so loved and honored in all my life from people I have never met before. I relive it over and over and still cannot believe the amount of warmth and absolute sincere heartfelt caring from every one of you. You were there for me as if we had known each other all our lives. You helped me through a very hard time that I was not sure I could handle. But with all of you by my side to help me and guide me you made it possible for me to lay him to rest peacefully. Holding my hand through it helped more than you know. And whoever had their hand on my back gave me such comfort knowing someone really cared. I made new friends that day that I will never forget. I know Joe is in disbelief over the honor he got and how proud his wife Lucy is and she is now by his side. I thank you all from deep within my heart and soul for who all of you are and what you stand for. I salute you all and God Bless each and every one of you.

Patriot Guard Riders;

On behalf of my entire family, we would like to express our sincere thanks and deep appreciation for each and every one of you. The show of support yesterday was overwhelming. Yesterday being Christmas Eve and being such short notice I was praying for just two or three to be able to honor my Grandfather yesterday. I know that many were wanting to spend time with family and/or had family in from out of town. To have as many of your members show up to help send my Grandfather to his final resting place was….well there are no words to adequately express our feelings. Some where: “awesome,” “overwhelming,” “beautiful, “ “inspirational. “ just to name a few. Even these word can’t convey our feelings. The love that you all showed by taking time out to honor a fellow Comrade will forever bind you to our family. Below is a post my son made on Facebook expressing how you all impacted him.

At 11am this morning my granddaddy was laid to rest. My family and I owe a special thanks and gratitude to the texas patriot guard riders, as about 30 of them escorted my granddaddy's hearse in on motorcycle brigade and surrounded the ceremony at attention with American flags. These women and men of our military came in on short notice on Christmas eve and gave their time to honor my grandfather in a way that's unexplainable unless you were there. He got full military honors, 21 gun salute, and taps. The ceremony was close to overwhelming. I'm happy that my granddaddy gets to rest now and his memory and legacy will forever live on. I love you granddaddy, rest peacefully.

If you would please share this message. We are eternally grateful! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

Very Humbly Yours,
The McElyea and Viner Family

Please forgive me for not grabbing my son and daughter and have them shake all of your hands. I did scold them later. Hey, I'm a mom, it's what I do .

I want to thank all the Patriot Guard Riders who showed up to my father’s military funeral honors ceremony. My dad was in the U.S. Army during the late 1950s and stationed in West Germany . He was very proud of his military service and hearing his entertaining stories about Army life is one of the reasons I joined the U.S. Navy right out of high school.

Witnessing the Patriot Guard Riders reverently standing guard as we drove up to the pavilion was an inspiring sight and my dad would have been impressed. Our national colors waving in the breeze, the crisp salutes, the Riders standing strong and tall - the scene was so incredible. I sincerely thank you all so much for the respect shown to a fellow veteran who has gone home. Ronnie’s family and friends also appreciate the beautiful photos that were posted to your website just hours after Ronnie’s funeral honors.

The dust is finally settling on all the paperwork etc. I have needed to do. I am glad I was one who handled all the finances!!

I want to thank the Patriot Guards for everything they do for all the veterans and for their part in my husband's service - Capt. James B. Hitchborn, USN Retired, on August 20th. One of his Olympic crew members in attendance spoke with many of your members and said it helped restore his belief in the greatness of this country because of its people. I have had nothing but very great compliments on your organization. In fact a lady I train with at my dog training club has a husband with a Harley who is just waiting to retire and join your organization. Blew me away as she had searched your site to see if you were a part of Jim's service. This past Tuesday the 25th my daughter Kim and I visited my husband's resting place and we passed all of you getting ready to depart from another service and we waved to those of you we recognized. We were not in my white Tahoe, but in the white Mercedes. You all waved but not sure if that was just out of respect. Please be sure everyone knows how much your participation meant to the family and everyone there.

Thank you so much, thanks to you and the other guards for leading my father home. Words cannot express how much this meant to our family but what it would have meant to my Dad. Growing up a Navy "Brat" taught me lots of lessons. There is one I will always hold close to my heart . The sense of family the military creates. It’s hard to explain To friends how perfect strangers give you a sense of family. How perfect strangers create an immediate bond. It’s that "we get it" feeling. The feeling that they have your back.

When I was very young, I would stand in my best dress, Patton leather shoes and gloves and wave my father out to sea. He would be standing on Deck . My mother, brother and I would stay until we couldn’t see him anymore. When he returned we would be standing in the same spot..waiting to welcome him home.

As I sit here writing you this note, I am reminded that most of my adult life I have been told I have that trait. I have never met a stranger. I appreciate and love people....even strangers.

There are no strangers when you live on base and you all take care of each other. Thank you for reminding me that this is how it should be. In Military families we all know and understand the sacrifices made to protect this country. Thank you for being there. Please pass this on to not only the men and women who joined you today but to your fellow Guardsman.

The comments about the services and actions of your group were absolutely unbelievable. I was completely "blown away" with the respect. careful attention to detail, and service provided. I took Mrs. Luna to the cemetery on Friday to acquaint her with the grave locator, the office and the facilities. There was a group of PGRs waiting nearby, and Mrs. Gerald Luna recognized one or two from the prior day services. It was an honor for her to able to thank these men, again for the honor, courtesy and display of patriotism on behalf of her husband.

As for myself, I am in total awe of all that your group does. I am at the age where I've been there, done that and have seen a lot of good, and bad, but nothing compares to what I witnessed last Wednesday.

If ever there is anything I can do, other than donations, please, please let me know. It would be my honor.

On Monday, 20 July 2015, we laid to rest a great patriot and a man among men. You and the Patriot Guard showed much respect for him and it is difficult to put into words how much we appreciate your being there. My Mother didn’t really know what to expect, but after meeting you at the viewing she knew the send off Duane would be receiving would be more than she hoped for. You and your fellow PGR members in attendance Monday made the day more special than we could have believed. I know the Colonel was pleased. You stood fast and held the line, even in extreme heat. The young airmen that were there with the Air Force Honor Guard could learn a lot from you all. I am proud to be associated with you and to have had the honor of the Patriot Guard Riders present on such a sad day. Thank you again for accepting the mission and being there for him as he was for me.

How does one begin to say, "Thank you," for all that you have done for my dad, Bob Beck? We were so grateful for your presence and escort to Gooseneck Cemetery, Dad’s final resting place. You filled our hearts with an abundance of pride; I know Dad was also watching with a great deal of gratitude as well.

Upon arrival at the cemetery, seeing all of the flags displayed, again filled our hearts with gratefulness. It meant the world having each of you there with us and we are forever indebted for your presence.

My dad’s passing on the 4th of July was so poignant as he loved our country more than anyone I’ve ever known. His patriotism was exceeded only by the love and honor in his heart that he so proudly displayed towards his country.

Thank you for greeting our guests at the church, for escorting us to the cemetery, and for setting out the flags, each and every one so perfectly, and so beautifully. Our hearts are forever appreciative. God bless each of you and God bless the United States of America.

Gratefully yours,
Lisa and Dr. (Major) Norm Gonzales, USAF (Ret)

My name is Dane Francis and I am the nephew of Officer Mike Hale, who was laid to rest out at Arlington National Cemetery a couple of weeks ago.

It was a stormy day like many we have had lately. We drove in the procession from Farmers Branch all the way out to Grand Prairie and it rained on us the whole way there. The motorcycle police did an outstanding job of getting us there. I was so moved that they stood, at attention, in the rain in a salute as a show of respect to my Uncle who served in the Air Force as we drove into the cemetery.

I was even more moved when we finally got to the grave site and there was the Patriot Guard all standing, in the rain, at attention, in salutes as a show of respect for a fallen brother. It brings tears of pride to my eyes just writing these words and remembering that site.

You and your organization are what America is and what we stand for. On behalf of my family, I would like to thank you and those men and women that were out, in the rain, taking care of my family as we said Goodbye to our loved one.

God Bless you all for your service!

Plus, I-20 was shut down for days because an oil tanker exploded so we had to go the looooong way from Ft. Worth to the National Cemetery.

So many of your patriot guards showed up for Dad. Whom they had never met. He would have been so proud to see the send off.

You all have been on my mind since December when you gave our family and friends such beautiful memories to hold onto forever! You honored my husband Jim with respect, dignity and love as his brothers and sisters. You stood silent and tall, yet I could feel your sadness at our loss and your pride in being part of this ceremony to honor his service to our country. You have given much of yourselves to serve a country unlike any other country. Your patriotism you wear proudly. God bless you for continuing to give of yourselves, even now for your brothers and sisters who have died. You are true servants of God and country and I am so grateful to you all for responding to our request for your presence. You stand for what this country needs to be reminded of......freedom, courage, sacrifice and honor. You ask for nothing in return. You are our true heroes as you continue to give of yourselves!

It is my pleasure to donate to NTXPGR. I was introduced to your fine organization through my good friend, the late Tony Dukes. The PGR stood tall for my grandfather when he passed in 2008 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, TX. He was a WW II veteran who spent 2-1/2 years in Stalag II B as a POW. I was unaware of the PGR until that day when the PGR led the procession to the cemetery. People rose from bus stop benches...they stopped yard work, construction workers paused and passers by stood at attention as we rolled through. It was quite a sight to see the respect paid by the general public and to see how the PGR honored my grandfather at the funeral home and at the graveside service. Thanks so much for the selfless work you do and God bless the PGR!!

Thank you so much for contacting my mother, Billie Jurlina, to assure her that the North Texas Patriot Guard Riders would, indeed, be pleased to escort my Dad's cortege to the DFW National Cemetery. When the day began very rainy, we were discouraged that it might not be possible. Then we were so pleased that you and another Rider were willing and able to don protective gear and lead us there, despite the rain. When we arrived at the cemetery, we were surprised and so impressed by the flag bearers who surrounded the pavilion and stayed until after the end of the interment service. It was very meaningful to us and would have pleased my Dad very much.

Joe served in the U.S. Army from 1942-1945 when he was 18-21 years old. Of course it was an impressionable time in his life and he made lifelong friends with whom he corresponded via letter, phone, and later on email, until near the end of his life at age 90. Those relationships meant so much to him. During his tour of duty, while stationed in Texas, he met and married my mother which changed his life immeasurably, and they were married just 4 months shy of 70 years! He also earned an Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Texas, and worked in Texas for 35 years.

Dad had previously attended a funeral which was escorted by the Patriot Guard Riders and he had requested, if it were possible when his time came, that he would like them to escort him to the DFW National Cemetery.

We want to thank you, and we request that you thank all of the kind people who held the flags with such respect during the interment service. We want them to know that even though Joe's official service to his country was years ago, that he counted his birthright as a citizen of the United States of America as one of his greatest inheritances from his father who had immigrated here from Croatia. He was proud to have served in the U. S. Army, as did his son and his son-in-law, as well. He would have been extremely grateful that you and so many of your group were willing to honor his service in that way.

Sincerely,
Carol Ann (Jurlina) Krumm

I am writing to express my sincere appreciation for the presence of the Patriot Guard at my father’s funeral and interment, which were on October 24th. His name was Austin McCormack, Jr. and he was a WWII Veteran. I know that he would have loved to be honored in such a manner. The flags along the roadway were very inspiring and the members of the Guard who were lining the walkway from the parking lot to the entrance to the church were impressive. In an attempt to allow everyone to get the full impact, only my brother and I knew that the Guard would be present at the service. The result of that is that many of the nearly 50 immediate and extended family members at the funeral told me that it was their favorite part of the service. Being in the family car and following behind the motorcycles with their flags flying was definitely a highlight for me as was arriving at the cemetery and seeing the flags in a semicircle around the gravesite. I cannot thank John Blase, the ride captain, and Gary Dunn, the husband of my father’s secretary who first told me about the missions of the Patriot Guard, enough for making my father’s funeral something that his children, grandchildren, siblings and other family members will always remember.

Sincerely,

I have just registered on the Patriot Guard web site. I am very interested in becoming involved with the organization. I have seen things in the past you have been involved with but yesterday it hit home. I was at a memorial service for Johan van der Colff in Wichita Falls and upon my arrival there were several members of the Patriot Guard in front of the church. I felt bad because I wanted to thank them for your support but they had left before I went back outside.

I am a veteran as well as a paramedic/nurse and that is a field that is not appreciated very much. So it is very near to my heart when organizations such as yours show support. Please forward this email to the riders that were present.

There are no words, none, for the men that stepped forward to help carry grandpa to his final resting place. It was so very fitting that US Marines helped carry an Airman, Howard would have laughed. It had taken a miracle to make sure grandpa was buried with military honors, and it meant the world to us that you all would have stepped up to do those honors at another time when his DD214 was located. Thank you all so very much for what you do, again there are no words to convey what it meant for my family for you to be there. You are all indeed angels.

Thank you for the CD [A CD of Mission Photos Was Sent By Erna Carlile]. I will make sure that the entire family gets a copy. I would like again to emphasize how pleased we were with the entire Patriot Guard Riders Unit. Their attendance and support impacted our family deeply. Please continue doing the good work that you all do and stay safe in your endeavors. We were truly comforted by your efforts during our time of loss. Please pass this on to each and every member (not just those who were there for my grandfather Retired Master Sergeant Harry Sherman and his family) but those who are there for every veteran whose time on this earth has ended.

If there is ever anything I can do for you please do not hesitate to ask.

Sincerely,

How can I ever say "Thank You" enough and express my family's gratitude for your service at my brother's funeral on 9-4-2014.

From the time I came on the church parking lot until I left the grave site services at DFW Cemetery, you were all standing guard. That was my first military service to attend, and it will live in my memory forever.

I spoke a word of thanks to several of your members, and each one told me it was an honor and privilege. That meant a lot to me.

I come from a family of military men - my father in WWI, my husband and brother in WWII, and my son in Vietnam. So I hold service folks in high esteem!

In every way my brother lived his life to serve others,  and he did so in an unassuming manner

Please share my thanks with the others who served!

Sincerely,

JACK AND KENNYE SEMONES

Yesterday at the DFW National Cemetery, these men/women of the Patriot Guard Riders escorted Bob Stanley’s casket to his resting place. These are patriots who ride cycles and escort vets and silently give respect. Jack loved their efforts and called it a ministry. At the actual funeral service on Thursday Jack had spoken to one of them..... And yesterday that man asked Jack if he would speak to the riders for a minute after everyone had left the area. Of course he did. I wish you all could have been there. He stood and with emotion spoke of his love of country and service and Heavenly Father’s love for this nation. He told the guard they brought such an important spirit to the gathering.... Called them Angels. So sweet and dear. The riders one by one then thanked him for his service and said they loved him. It was just a wonderful experience! Moving for all!
Letter of Appreciation To Your Wonderful Service with the Patriot Guard

To all members of the Texas Patriot Guard,

My name is Jared Clark, I am a funeral director at Fisher Funeral Home in Denison, Texas, and I would like to take a moment to thank all of the members of the Texas Patriot Guard for the wonderful service that their men and women provide. I have been fortunate enough to work with their organization numerous times since I began working in the funeral industry three years ago. Time and time again we have worked with them, and they have worked with us! The Texas Patriot Guard Riders have gone above and beyond to meet the wishes of every single family that I have conducted the military services for. Not only do they concern themselves with being present to honor our fallen veterans, they take into consideration safety of all those present, but they worry about their comfort as well making sure that there is plenty of water on the hot Texas summer days. I can't begin to say enough about the service they provide, or the feeling that I get every time that their flag bearing bikes start up and begin to lead the procession to the graveside for the rendering of military honors. Most important of all is the attitude of all representing members of the Patriot Guard; if you take a second to thank them for their service you will always a receive an answer like, "It is an honor to be here, and thank you for your loved one's service."

I wish I could find the words to describe what it meant to us to have you there. We were all so touched and moved by the service you performed. Our dad was a proud Marine and was proud to have served our country. I know he was smiling and proud of the send off you helped to give him. Thank you for taking the time to honor him.

On behalf of the Petersen family, we want to send our grateful thanks for the Patriot Guard Riders' presence at our dad's service at the DFW National Cemetery on July 31, 2014. It was so touching to see all of you there, especially familiar faces from our good friends Linda Tinnerman and Connie Carman. My dad was so proud to have been a WW II Marine and had attended many military funerals. Someone said after the ceremony, that he would have been so touched if he could have seen the send off he received. He was a true Patriot for God and his Country and now he's helping guard heaven's doors with his fellow Marines. Thank you all so much for taking the time to honor our hero.

I know he looked on with pride and gratitude, knowing his service was not in vain, and would be remembered.

As I looked at each of you, riding, and standing guard, my heart was in my throat, and tears in my eyes. Your service will always be remembered and appreciated. Never forget how important you are in this rite of passage for our warriors and especially their families.

First off thank you so much for your groups presence at Robert Wheatley's funeral on June 9th. Just pulling up to the funeral home brought tears to my eyes. My wife (daughter) and mother in law (widow) of Robert Wheatley were deeply moved by the numerous flags and your riders standing in formation near the entrance. The attendance alone was enough, however the caring and companionate demeanor displayed by the PGR towards family and guests was amazing. Robert Wheatley was a huge fan of your organization, and from the family THANK YOU! Your group's participation in the procession was even more appreciated. The skill of your riders is top notch and a great example to other riders. The family was blown away by the unexpected presence of even more PGR at the DFW national Cemetery. We received so many compliments on your group's display of support and compassion from beginning to end. On behalf of my Wife (Christina) and the rest of Robert's family, Thank you so much!!!

Once again Thank you to the PGR for there support and presence.

I did notice that the mission report for Dad is showing to be Kennith Dickey's. Just posted in the wrong place. If you could fix that, then I will print it for Mom (she does not have a computer). [The Error Has Been Corrected - Sorry]

I am overwhelmed by the messages of support from the Patriot Guard members. I know I speak for my mother and sister when I say no words exist to express what we feel about the way the Patriot Riders handled my dad's service. You treated us like family and I have heard several stories of how you helped elderly people up the steps and so on. You all showed us such heartfelt compassion and love. The burial was just perfect. The certificate you presented to my mom and the pictures to come mean so much to us. The work the Patriot Guards do is not only important to grieving families, it is a much needed reminder to all people, both young and old, that the freedom we so enjoy has not been free at all. Our freedom has cost many, many lives over the years and the respect you show to those that have proudly been willing to pay that cost is just out of this world!

Our most sincere thanks to each of you.

Top Rider Awards
Posted: 06/01/2014
I wanted to give an update for the North Texas Patriot Guard Riders. We had our second Meet and Greet in 2014, Thursday May 16th which was hosted by Shannon Rose Funeral Chapel in East Ft Worth. I believe that all riders that attended this event would agree that the food, drink and fellowship was well worth the time spent. At this Meet and Greet I announced the winners of the North Texas Patriot Guard Riders "Top Rider " award. This Top Rider award was first introduced by the leadership many years ago but had been forgotten in the past few years, but is something we can now start to do again. Ride Captains were requested to nominate a "Blue Hat" for their continued attendance at missions and a rider that treats others with respect and integrity without expecting anything in return and is willing to be there in rain or shine, hot or cold climate conditions and always placing differences aside while serving at these missions. These Top Riders did so with highest level honor, pride and a sincere desire to help whenever and wherever requested. Many names were submitted but these four names rose to the top ( Randy Smith, Tommy Brock, Kirk Pacheco, and Bill Williams). Each of these riders will receive a Marble Plaque shown in the photo. I do want to thank all of our riders for their time and dedication that each of you have shown over the years with the North Texas Patriot Guard . Please know that without this dedication we would not have a PGR organization as strong as it is in North Texas. Standing the flag line is the most important job as a Patriot Guard Rider, and I am honored to stand with each of you.

God Bless you all for what you do

A "Typical" Morning
Posted: 04/29/2014
Today was a typical morning, an early funeral for a WWII Veteran, later a procession to his gravesite. If there was time afterward, I could probably catch the last Mission of the day at the National Cemetery - we had a total of four today.

I haven’t done it in a long time, so I decided to stop and grab a box of doughnuts for the Riders who would get up early and ride to the southern side of our area. When I tried handing the cashier my credit card she replied, "You paid." In a heavy Korean accent. I said, "No ma’am, I haven’t." She said it again, with a little more emphasis and I replied the same way. Not the first time I had a war of words with a little Korean woman... She then said "You already paid for!" I hadn’t had any coffee yet, so it took me a minute to understand what she was telling me was to get my doughnuts and move out of the way. I replied, "gamsahabnida ajumeoni" (‘thank you ma’am’ in Korean.) She smiled and said, "Not me, him!", pointing at the man in line behind me. He shook my hand and said, "I know where you’re going this morning. Thank you for what you’re doing and ride safe." I took a minute to explain that the first Hero of the day was a sailor who had two ships sunk out from under him in less than three years. He was 90 years old and had been married to the same lady for 63 of them. We both got a little misty, hugged and went on our way.

Not a bad way to start the day....

I just wanted to say how much of an Honor it was to be at the service today [03/23/2014] for Mr. O'Connor. I have always heard stories about the "Patriot Guard", and the wonderful things they do for the families, but I never really knew what happened until today. I was invited by my father (Michael Goebel) to come stand in the Flag Line with the rest of the Guard members during the service today, and everyone there made me feel right at home, and treated me with the upmost respect. I only remember a few of the members names such as Rusty, Rick, Dan, Michael, and many others that I met, and just can't tell you all the names, but I wanted to say "Thank You" to all of you as it was a great honor to be there!!

A Special PGR Plaque To Mike "Hot Wheels" Tate

On Monday April 7, 2014, Texas State Captain Mike "Gunner" Lambert and Ride Captain Carlton "Cruiser" Emmons made the trip to Cisco, Texas, to present a special PGR plaque to Mike "Hot Wheels" Tate. Mike joined the PGR a number of years ago, but due to health issues, has only been able to attend a few missions in the Cisco/Comanche area. What Mike has undertaken though, is a tribute to him and his selflessness to honor those who have served and their families. Mike gathers intel from the National Website and sends a condolence letter to each and every Hero throughout the country.

We all have our calling within the PGR and Mike’s, although unseen, is as important as those of us who stand the flag line.

Thank you, Mike, for your condolence letter writing campaign and may God Bless you for all your tireless efforts.

Thank you so very much for your immediate response. It means so much to our family at this time to be in contact with those who understand honoring the service our father gave to our country. We sincerely appreciate all the wonderful service the Patriot Riders offer to those who were willing to protect us in any way necessary.

My husband, Ray III, and I went to the DFW National Cemetery after we finalized my father-in-law/loves funeral arrangements. It was so impressive to observe firsthand the presence of and protective stance taken by the Patriot Guard. After the military portion of the burial was completed, I introduced myself to Mr. Randy Smith, who was at a respectable distance from the funeral, and asked about your service organization. He graciously explained the purpose of the Patriot Riders and even gave me his card, telling me to contact him if I had any other questions. It is thanks to him that we were able to contact the North Texas Chapter.

Once again, many thanks to the Patriot Guard Riders.

Words cannot adequately express my gratitude for your service on the day David was laid to rest. Your presence meant so very much to me, and I know David would say the same if he could. You added grace and a level of dignity and comfort that helped me get through the saddest day of my life. The photographs on your web site are moving, and so appreciate your having posted them. I will send the link to our friends and family members.

If at any time I can contribute to the comfort of another veteran's family during a service, please do not hesitate to call on me. I do not have a bike - and never learned to ride, as I loved sitting behind David when we went riding - but I still have my helmet, and it would be a privilege to ride with you if that is permissible.

Again, my heartfelt thanks. You are VERY special men [and women].

DFW National Cemetery

Our Dual Credit United States History class field trip was definitely one to remember. When we were first informed about taking a field trip to a cemetery I was a little narrow minded towards going. I thought "oh boy a field trip to go look at tombstones, sounds like a drag". But man was I terribly wrong.

When we first arrived at the DFW national cemetery we were sent straight to witness a live funeral for a military veteran that had recently passed away. What an experience it was to hear about the life that soldier had lived and to witness his daughters in emotional distraught. It was very sad to see, but at the same exact time it was a very comforting atmosphere with all of the patriot guard riders and other ex-military veterans bordering the casket and family members. lt showed the absolute dedication and honor all soldiers and ex-soldiers have for this country. lt simply made me realize that I should be grateful for being alive and thriving in such a fantastic country and with such great honorable men to defend me.

Seeing all of the tombstones of deceased military veterans was completely overwhelming. You never understand how many people serve for you until you see it right in front of your face, and to think that this is only a fraction of the total amount. The field trip in retrospect was nothing but life changing, and makes me deeply appreciate living in the United States.

I want to take this time to thank the Patriot Guard Riders for their support with my brother's funeral on such a late notice.

The Ride Captain was great and a lot of help to my family, as were all the riders.

I will make a donation to the PGR program as soon as I can get all business taken care of.

Thanks,

Members of The North Texas Patriot Guard Riders,

On behalf of Thurlow Wayne White's family, I want to thank The North Texas Patriot Guard Riders for the unbelievably kind, and thoughtful service that your group of volunteers provided for my father's funeral services, and burial.

I cannot begin to explain what it meant emotionally to see you, and your volunteers at his funeral service on Sunday, February 9th, 2014, at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibben Funeral Home in Waxahachie, and then again at his burial on Tuesday the 14th, at the Dallas/Ft. Worth National Cemetery. Even though I only met a few of your group, it's extremely comforting to know that there are other Americans that feel as we do about our armed forces, country, family, and friends.

The professionalism of your group, especially on that rainy Sunday when the temperature never rose above 30 degrees, was awe inspiring, and gallant in the extreme. You will never be forgotten by all that witnessed your dedication, which for me, truly exemplify the meaning of "above, and beyond the call of duty".

I have donated $500.00 dollars via your WEB site to help defer some of your expenses, and would encourage any others that review this testimony to give what they can to support your noble cause.

Sincerely,

Mike White

To The Men & Women Of The North Texas Patriot Guard Riders

On the behalf of the Moore Family & Friends, I want to take this time to extend our most heartfelt thanks to each of you who stood to honor the military service of Richard Moore during his Celebration of Life Services on 31 January 2014 at the Greenwood Funeral Home Chapel and the wonderful Committal services conducted on 3 February 2014 at the DFW National Cemetery. The chilling temperatures and your steadfast commitment to honor our veteran were challenging but you each stood your ground which is a true hallmark of the Patriot Guard Riders.

As the Patriot Guard Riders District Captain for the Southwest Washington District of Washington State, it continues to amaze me each mission we conduct at how many dedicated PGR members we have in our organization. It is a true testimony to visit another state and witness how great of an organization we have nationwide. When standing on the opposite side of the flag line it does certainly give you a different perspective of how much the family appreciates The Patriot Guard Riders and all that they stand for.

Again, Thank Each Of You ~ You Are The Best Of The Best !

My name is Karina Hernandez and I am a resident of a house on one of the opposite corners of the denoted home. Tuesday night as I made my arrival home from work I noticed a bunch of vehicles on the Rocky Rd side as well as the Meadowbrook side of the street. My curiosity sparked. However I also believe in minding my own business. However this morning I noticed quit a bit more vehicles on the streets and grew even more curios. So as I made my way to drop off my children at school I noticed a camera crew. So as soon as I arrived at work I logged in my computer and searched the address for anything related in the news hoping nothing bad had happened, as I knew this house had been vacant for a while. Upon research I ran into your Patriot Guard Riders website and read your post. I am very happy to say that I was so happy to read the post. I wanted to inform you that it is an honor to live in a neighborhood near this home and wanted to know if you could please let the family know for me I am very very grateful for his service and we would like to welcome the family to the new home. Wished we (the neighborhood) would have known and maybe we could joined in welcoming him as well!

Once again I would like to thank SOC James Mullinix for his service and all he sacrificed for his nation and for all of us that call the US home!

My name is Joan Popp-Maniuszko and I am writing this email as a personal thank you to the North Texas Patriot Guard Riders.

My nephew, SSGT Alex Viola, was killed in action while serving a tour in Afghanistan on November 17th, 2013. Alex's untimely death was a shock to the entire family and all who knew him. We all remember where we were and what we were doing when we received the dreaded phone call ... it's something that is burned into your heart and soul.

My family was amazed and in awe at the out-pouring of support from the entire Texas community where my sister and brother in law live - and where Alex did most of his growing up. We were especially touched by the presence of so many volunteers from the Patriot Guard! Most of us have never heard of the Patriot Guard but we can't express our gratitude enough for your quiet presence from the time Alex arrived in Texas from Dover AFB to his wake at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home to his final resting place in Colleyville. The Guard's escort from the church to the cemetery was a sight I will never forget.

Alex served his country with such enthusiasm and courage, while being humble and reserved as well ... we didn't know at what level until hearing the stories from his fellow soldiers after his death. I have no doubt that Alex was aware of your presence through out the entire ceremonial process and giving you all a thumbs up for a job well done - protecting his family the way he protected his country.

Thank you all for being there for us. The presence of The Patriot Guard gave us a sense of comfort, peace of mind and a huge sense pride. We are so proud of you for demonstrating to all that our soldiers are worth the time to be remembered and honored... especially our fallen.

Keep up the good work and know that you all are in our prayers.

All the best,
Joan Popp-Maniuszko

It was an honor to have the PGR escort my son, Daniel Shoemaker, on January 11. Your riders were extremely professional and brought great honor and respect to my son and our family. In our time of grieving for our son it is comforting to know that you guys were only there to honor his service. He was a true patriot and loved being in the Air Force and serving his country. As a retired Army soldier I was moved by the dignity in which you all presented the honors to my son and our family. You will always be in our memory and prayers.

May God bless each of you for what you do to honor our veterans and active duty military.

This email is long overdue. I apologize. I can’t begin to tell you how grateful I am to you and the rest of the PGR that assisted with my husband’s funeral. (Billy Joe Willard, Sr.) His funeral was October 26, 2013 in Crowley, Texas. It meant so much to me and I know Bill was looking down proudly as well. Bill served in the US Navy, the Army Reserves and the National Guard. Bill loved our country. He was proud to be an American. He supported and respected our military. Our son is currently a Major in the USAF and had served in the USMC. Bill was a Mason, a York rite, and a Shriner. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He was a very good man. We were married 36 wonderful years and still on our honeymoon. He is greatly missed.

Bill had a passion for riding his Harley. He had been riding bikes for about 46 years. We were at a HOG rally in Amarillo, Texas many years back and Bill and I signed up with the PGR way back then. Of course we did toy runs, poker runs, ROT rally every year, etc. prior to moving to Northeast Indiana. Once in Indiana we rode every chance we could - weather permitting! We had planned to move back to Texas in the upcoming years. However, on October 14, 2013 our dreams and plans were shattered and our lives forever changed. Bill was hit by an 18 wheeler that did not yield the right away. He was on the motorcycle. He died a week later, October 21, 2013 due to the injuries sustained from the accident.

I handled the arrangements here in Indiana and I put my brother, Ronnie Kennedy, in charge of the arrangements in Texas till I got there. Ronnie asked me if I wanted him to contact the PGR. I told him absolutely. That it would be a great honor to Bill. When I arrived at the funeral home and saw the Patriot Guard Riders lined up, my eyes immediately filled with tears to see such a beautiful site and to see & feel such Honor and respect for Bill. The beautiful plaque you presented to me is treasured and will be placed in a shadow box I am putting together in memory of Bill.

As you already know, we lost our stepfather in May 2013 (Bobby Gene Marshall - USN) and we recently lost our uncle in December 2013 (Alva Eugene Whitley - USN) This past year has been very devastating to our family. Thank you for all you have done for these great men and for our family. it was an honor to have the PGR at the services. My other uncles and cousins were quite impressed with the PGR.

Please pass my sincere appreciation along to all others that took part in honoring Bill. I know there is a special place in Heaven for all of you! Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Hugs & Love,

Words really fail me in trying to express my gratitude for your participation in my husband's funeral procession and burial. The honor and dignity that your presence gave the occasion cannot be overemphasized. Although L.D. did not serve in an actual combat zone, his duties in the Air Force were still important to the support of the troops in Vietnam, and I have always been proud that he served his country, especially at a time when it was not the most popular thing to do. I am so glad that our children and grandchildren were able to see their father and "papa" honored in such a memorable way. Thank you again for taking time out of your day to bless our family.

My stepfather, Henry Baltine, passed away on December 2 and was buried December 5. Your presence in front of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and again at Sacred Heart Cemetery was such an honor and we wanted to thank you so much for being there. The weather was horrible, cold, windy and icy, but you stood in those extreme conditions to honor a man who gave twenty years of his life in service to our country. It meant so much to my mother, and all of us, to have you there to show gratitude to him.

We were so grateful for all you did for us.

Today I witnessed first-hand the power/impact of your organization, and I wanted to say "thank you."

I was among the many citizens lining North Tarrant Parkway today to honor Sgt. Viola and to show support for his family. While I have seen the Patriot Guard Riders on television, it's usually just a tiny clip and it's hard to understand the impact that you have. To see all the riders, and to feel the immense dedication that they all obviously have for their calling, was just amazing.

I know how I felt standing there- proud (to be an American) and sad- even though I didn't know Sgt. Viola or his family. Still, I wanted them to feel SUPPORTED, and due to a lot of media attention and emails sent out from our church and school, I think they did. But what I find incredible is that when citizens like us aren't there, YOU still are!

I went to your website and saw how organized you are, how thorough and how COMMITTED you are to honoring those who defend our freedom. It was humbling, because I realize that you are all doing this on your own time, and not looking for anything for yourselves. (I kept reading excerpts from your website to my husband.)

I anticipate you guys becoming one of my preferred organizations for donations! Until I can start that, you will be in my prayers. I will pray for your safety ('cause people in cars are ridiculous around motorcyclists), and I will pray to thank God that you are out there, doing what you do.

Dear Men and Women of the North Texas Patriot Guard,

Words can not begin to express the level of gratitude that I wish to extend to each and every one of you. I am writing to feebly attempt a thank you for the services that you preform for our nation, our armed services, our fallen heroes, and for the many family members that are left in the wake of such great losses. So please forgive my lack of words, and my inability to show you all how much the things you have done and continue to do mean to me.

Recently you honored my family by standing your faithful watch during the funeral and later the procession for my father (Michael F. Newland). The level of respect, caring, and honor that each one of you showed to not only my father's remains, but to each member of my family was incredible and absolutely amazing. I watched silently as you each took a moment to pay your respects, I watched as you helped the elderly women of the church by escorting them up the stairs and into the church, I watched with tears as you saluted my Dad as I carried him out of the church I was married in and placed him tenderly in your care, and then lastly I watched as an amazing procession and formation of motorcycles surrounded and escorted my Dad and my family the hour plus ride to DFW National Cemetery in the sudden cold rain! Upon arrival the sunshine had returned and as I waited with you for the cemetery representative, not one complaint was heard, not one mention of the cold, nothing but care and concern! You men and women are incredible! My Dad always told me that one of the things he was proudest of in his life was that he had the honor of standing with you and giving to the families of the fallen! Now I truly know why!

So in closing my family and I would like to say thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts, and as that could never show how great full and honored we were by you I will leave you with this prayer

May God bless and watch over each of you, as you serve our nation again and again on every new mission. May he give you the strength to continue to stand tall, may he clear a path for you on every ride, may he bless you with safety and peace. And lastly may he fill your hearts with the love that you have given us and all the families you have served.

Amen

Thank you and the North Texas chapter for creating and completing the mission on such short notice it was a memorable service. The Patriot Guard Riders service was one which was an unforgettable event and appearance which the family and friends of Mr. Carl Long will not soon forget. There were many veterans present for the service and the Guard was very respectful and positive throughout the entire event. The Patriot Guard participants had to endure extreme heat and long durations of continuous standing at attention without interruption while providing the services for the family. Even the children which attended the event all were very impressed by and interested in what the Patriot Guard stands for, in my opinion this is a good thing that there are still people willing to make a positive experience out of such a traumatic event.

Again, Thank you and all who made this mission a complete success.

One year ago, SSG Jeremie Border was Killed In Action and we honored him Sep. 8th and 10th. I spoke to his mother recently and she is doing well, considering. Two soldiers who worked with Jeremie are here and one more is expected to arrive to help Mary through the next few days. She sent this to me today. Jeremie is a true hero.  Read The Narative

Mary expressed her gratitude for what we did to honor Jeremie. This is one strong women.

I am so proud of what we do and how we affect our hero’s families lives.

A big, big thank you for the attention he got, I knew he deserved it as being a part of his life and work for so long I know what he gave. We are from back east originally as well as in the west for over 40 years with much family and friends, I sent the pictures that Linda Tinnerman sent me of the service to all of them. I must say all were very impressed at the very important, beautiful job you folks do for our veterans, as they are the reason we have this great country to call home.

I knew Chuck Roper many years ago when he was stationed at Ft. Polk. At the time he flew helicopters then transitioned into Fixed Wing aircraft. He was a very special man, words can't express how much he meant to me. I myself am a veteran though not retired and think that what you do is beyond the call of duty, honoring our veterans to make sure that they go in peace. I also have a friend in Virginia who is a retired veteran and also is a Patriot Guard Rider, you all have my utmost respect and admiration.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart and bless all of you for what you do. You certainly are America's finest!

On May 11, 2013, the Patriot Guard Riders provided an Honor Line of American Flags for my father, J. Darrell Wiggs, at Laurel Land Funeral Home. I was deeply touched personally, as it brought back some personal memories of my return from Iraq. It was greatly appreciated and I can’t tell you how many comments I received of how beautiful and impressive it was. The group assigned did an outstanding job and on behalf of the entire family I would like to express our sincere appreciation for what you do. Thank you very much.

I cannot find words to adequately thank you and your fellow Riders for the support you provided for my father's memorial service last week. I apologize for not sending this sooner, but after so many weeks of caring for Dad as his health declined and then preparing for his funeral, we had to focus on Mom's needs in the days immediately after the funeral.

The presence of the PGR was felt and made a dramatic impression on our family and friends in attendance at the memorial service and during the procession to the DFW National Cemetery. The combination of PGR, Naval Sea Cadets, and the active military honor guard ceremony at the DFW National Cemetery provided a powerful military tribute that I am certain Dad would have liked.

Please let me know of an appropriate way to express appreciation to the whole contingent of Patriot Guard Riders for honoring my father.

Thanks,
Ric Atkins
I'd like to add my heartfelt thanks to the Patriot Guard. My pastor (as well as many others) commented to me this morning how impressed he was with the Patriot Guard. I told him that Scott has ridden with them for several years. I also told him about their escort to the cemetery and that they stood guard there too. It was the first time Pastor Mike had seen them and he enjoyed visiting with some of the PG and learning more about them.

Having them honor Dad and share themselves with us was very special. They are each a blessing to others. I'll always remember the special role they had in Dad's memorial services.

God's richest blessings on each and every one.

You all made my Dad's Home-Going very special, it truly revealed the American Patriotism for "all" of our troops, serving here and overseas. Also thanks for helping as Pallbearers, that was much needed. All of you standing at the entrance as the people came in, made us truly proud to be Americans! The flags waving with the wind was so beautiful. And thank you for the plaque as well, it means a lot to us.

Everything the Patriot Guard Riders did to honor my Dad was outstanding! Thank you, thank you, thank you, it was very much appreciated.

Words cannot express the appreciation I felt when I saw the flag bikes coming down the street as I proudly saluted the colors as they passed. Thank you for your professionalism, compassion, sympathy, camaraderie, honor and respect.

Thank you for taking the time to honor William with the recognition he deserves as his parents continue to grieve at the loss of their son. It really helped my father-in-law to be able to share his son's loss with you, Rusty and Billy, true patriots, and veterans who appreciate and honor the sacrifice of all those that have served. Thank you so much for taking time to visit with him, his wife, and my wife and I. My wife Maria misses her brother a great deal, and she told me many times on our drive back to Houston how important it was for her to see the respect, and honor shown William and for her father to have something tangible in his son's memory that can proudly display in his home.

I know our father would be proud of his burial, and I know each and every one of you will be blessed in the Now and After. Please express my gratitude to all the 'Riders' who made Bill's memorial service a very special one. I can just imagine him smiling because of the way his military experience was acknowledged. Without going into a lot of 'stuff', you all did something that his own Dad could not do for him, and that was to tell him "good job" and "thanks for serving."

John [Blase, Mission Ride Captain], thanks for getting things together in such a short time. I thought it was wonderful....couldn't have been better. God gave us a beautiful day, and all the people Bill loved were able to be there to celebrate his life.

I will continue to pray for Andrew and if there are other young men and women you would like me to pray for, I will be honored to do that.

Everyone who stands a flag line, has ridden in a procession, or helped to show any or everyone what we are truly about, has had a part in earning and receiving this appreciation. It was a great honor to accept this on behalf of all the men and women that have earned the respect that we have in our PGR organization.

The commander of the VFW, made a comment that with all the services we do, we have always been there for those in Weatherford. He said it was amazing. No matter what, the PGR is "Always There." That just echoes the quote on our WEB page where, at the top of the page, it says "Always There",

Congratulations to everyone for a job well done. Keep up the good work. You are all very deserving.

It it always a great honor to stand with each of you.

A Bit Of History: In July of 2009, at the KIA mission for Sgt. Gregory Owens, Jr., Major General Oats, commanding general of the 10th Mountain Division of the Army, made the statement several times that the PGR is "Always There" when they bring home a soldier killed in action. It was then that we adopted it as the North Texas PGR motto.

I would like to express my sincerest thanks to all who rode and escorted my father from Denton Bible to DFW National. It absolutely amazing to drive in and see all those American flags flying at both the church and DFW National. When my father arrived at the church I was very touched that those who were there at Denton Bible saluted and/or put their hands over their hearts as my dad was brought into the church. I will not soon forget the view that I had from the limo on our way from the church to DFW National. The flags waving in the wind behind the bikes of the Patriot Guard Riders, the vehicles on the road that pulled over or slowed down (on the highway) out of respect for the procession and the sounds of the bikes’ engines as they roared along the highway. When we arrived at DFW National I was once again struck with the amount of respect given to my father by the Patriot Guard Riders: the flags, PG Riders saluting or with their hands over their hearts as my dad’s coffin was taken into the pavilion. My heart ached so deeply at that moment, but was also bursting with pride. My dad honored this country with his unfailing service. And that day he was honored for it.

I am so impressed with the amount of riders that were there to escort my dad. The fact that you all pulled that together in such short order is still so amazing to me. I cannot properly express in this letter the depth of my gratefulness. As I said that day, April 17th, you all will be blessed by God for this service that you do.

My dad was never one to brag about his accomplishments. He was always interested in others and he wanted to learn about their lives, not brag about his own. My dad loved the Lord, his family and his country with his whole being. He would have been shocked at the amount of riders that showed up to escort him. But I believe that after a lifetime of service to this country that type of respect and honor shown to my father by the Patriot Guard Riders was something that he deserved. Something he would have never asked for, but something he deserved nonetheless. Thank you all so very for making that happen!!

I've attached a few pictures that I thought you may want to share with your fellow Patriot Guard Riders. (Note:  The photos may be published later)

God Bless!!!

He was proud of his country, proud of his 22 years in the Marines, and he was proud of his sons, one who followed him into the Marines and the other two who serve the public as law enforcement in the DFW area. I hope you don’t mind me reaching out to you but I just wanted to let you know that our bank is a big supporter of our troops and we all love our country. I had heard that the Patriot Guard was assembling next to our bank today and was going to escort the remains of a fallen soldier/veteran down Alsbury & I-35. As soon as I heard (about 11:30 this morning) I got as many people as I could (employees and customers, even though we were short-staffed) and grabbed as many American flags as possible so we could pay our respects to our hero on his journey to his final resting place. Please know that we are proud of what the Patriot Guard does to honor these men and women who put their lives on the line. Even though it was short notice, I wanted the family to know that we all just wanted to say, "Thank you for your service" and I hope it meant a lot.

If you are ever assembling by the bank again and are going to ride out that same way, please let me know and I will try to have people in place along the service road to show our support for the soldier and the family. We don’t want to create a spectacle; we just want to show how much we appreciate them.

I know you guys are still busy taking care of our fallen firefighters funerals. I just wanted to let you know how impressive the PGR was at the memorial service in Waco for the those lost in West TX. As you know, I am a firefighter here in Corpus Christi and a member of the CCFD Honor Guard. I was in front of the coliseum as the procession came in. As I stood in the wall of Honor lining the sidewalk, I watched the 30 or so bike of the Brother Keepers Firefighters MC go by. Then the PGR came and kept coming and coming. I think I heard that there was over 100 bikes. As if that was not impressive enough, shortly after the PGR drove by, a beautiful sea of American Flags started to spring up along the road. What an awesome sight. I have had stood so many flag lines as a member of this great organization, but this is the first time I was on the receiving side. I can't tell you how many people I heard commenting on how awesome the flags looked and the honor bestowed onto the fallen firefighters by the PGR. It was a bit strange to be in a firefighter uniform and have the PGR members come up to me as we ate lunch at a local restaurant, and offer condolences for the loss of our firefighter brothers and then thank me for my service. I was truly humbled.

Mary, I know how much of a nightmare it must have been to organize this mission. You did a fantastic job and did the PGR proud. All of you did. As a firefighter, I say thank you from the bottom of my heart. As a Deputy State Ride Captain of the best organization in this country, I say, JOB WELL DONE. I am proud to stand with all of you. I am SO PROUD of the Members of the Patriot Guard Riders around the Republic of Texas, as well as every MC and Independent Rider who joined us for their patience, understanding and perseverance during the missions this past week and the missions that are still to be accomplished. You've made sure every Fallen First Responder is honored properly in West, TX; while remaining vigilant to honor the rest of our Fallen in the CenTex Area. Without each and every one of YOU, we (the CenTex PGR Leadership) could have accomplished NOTHING for the families and friends of the Fallen throughout our areas of responsibility. I am truly humbled by your dedication.

To the Texas PGR Leadership: You guys and gals are a Godsend. When we (CenTex) thought our heads were going to explode initially, you reached out and helped us with logistical, Ride Captain, Member and moral support. There were times we had no clue where something was going to come from and you came through for us... Texas ROCKS!

To my CenTex Leadership, including those who came out of retirement to help: You guys have gone above and beyond in your efforts to ensure that not only are the Fallen honored properly and respectfully; you have ensured that all of our Members are given professional direction, kept safe and cared for their well-being throughout.

Thank you ALL from the depths of my heart. God Bless CenTex, God Bless Texas!

I am a minister in Garland, Texas. Today, I presided over a funeral service at the DFW National Cemetery. Being a biker myself, I was aware of the Patriot Guard but had never experienced PGR up close and personal. Today as I drove to the cemetery at 9am, it was cold, raining, and about a 25 mph wind. I was dreading the next hour or so. However, at the visitor center I encountered PGR folks and the USAF Honor Guard. I realized these folks make a commitment to our veterans seven days a week, and I saw how shallow it was for me to be concerned about being cold and wet for only an hour.

Thank you for your service. Thank you for your commitment. My wish for you (as I expressed to the riders this morning) is that you and I live our lives in such a fashion that the Westboro Baptist Church wants to picket our own funeral.

The Heart and Soul of America

We are the mothers, the fathers, the sons,
the daughters, the husbands,
and the wives of the American Soldier.
We are the Heart of America.
There are cracks in us
from being separated from our loved ones.
But were are not broken
There is pride in us,
knowing that our soldiers are willing
to give all that is dear,
to preserve all that is dear,
There is  deep sadness in us
when we see so many who do not understand
the necessity of the jobs our loved ones must do.
We have faith in our soldiers, faith in our leaders,
and a deep faith in our god,
faith that sustains us through the most difficult of times
We are the Heart of America.

We are the Soul of America.
We are the soldiers, who gladly go,
even with the knowledge that death maybe waiting.
We stand against all enemies,
those who are against us and what we must do
to preserve all that is dear.
We defend all of our countrymen,
those who support us,
and those who do not.
We show no preference in the defense of what is right,
all in need can depend upon us
For there is no greater love than a man
who would give up his life for his friends.
We have faith in our country, faith in our leaders,
and a deep faith in our God,
who is by our side in all that we do.
We are the Soul of America.

We are the Heart and Soul of America.
We do not die with each generation.
We do not hide ourselves in fear.
We do not turn a blind eye to the wrongs,
that exist both in our own land and in the lands of others.
We are strong in our faith.
We are determined in our service.
We are fearless in the face of fear.
We are the Heart and Soul of America.

On behalf of Naval Special Warfare Group ONE and the entire Naval Special Warfare community, I would like to thank all of the Texas Patriot Guard riders for your incredible contributions to our efforts to honor our fallen teammate, Chris Kyle.

The extraordinary amount of time, effort, resources and risk that you demonstrated to the Kyle and Littlefield families was absolutely impressive. The Naval Special Warfare community is made-up of a brotherhood of warriors, seeking to accomplish a mission no matter what challenges they face. In much the same way, you went above and beyond the call of duty to enable our community to stand by the family of a fallen brother. You fought through incredibly challenging conditions to honorably lead Chris and the Kyle family from Midlothian to Austin in the impressive procession that we have ever seen. Efforts like this are noticed and appreciated; and once again, the brotherhood between the Naval Special Warfare community and the entire Patriot Guard organization continues to be bonded by blood, sweat and tears.

Once again, thank you for all that you provided to the Kyle family, the local community, and the Naval Special Warfare community that traveled to Texas to honor our fallen teammate.

I cannot express how deeply I and my family were moved today by the dignity, honor, and respect you and the PGR showed to my Dad, Ray Smith, today at DFW National Cemetery. My Mom repeatedly said how wonderful it was to have y'all there and that y'all were able to be Dad's pall-bearers. It was very fitting that Dad was carried and laid to rest by his fellow veterans and those that respect our heroes.

As I watched your group muster, listened to you read my Dad's obituary to your group, listened to you pray to our Almighty Father, and watched as you saluted hands-over-hearts as the hearse carrying my Dad passed...I was filled with joy at seeing my Dad so honored.

I want to tell you a story about my Dad. Although Dad served during the Korean War, he was fortunate enough to never have to go overseas and see combat. Part of his company was chosen to stay here in the States and go through some more training. Luckily, Dad was one of those chosen. Fast forward to the late 1990's. A few years after retiring from Bell Helicopter, Bell asked Dad to come back as a contractor and travel to Korea to work with a partner company there. While there, Dad was able to do some traveling and sight-seeing. While visiting a marketplace an "older" Korean man came up to my Dad and began bowing to him and then speak very animatedly. The interpreter with Dad said that the man was thanking Dad for helping his country. You see..the Korean gentleman saw that Dad was of the age to be a member of the generation that fought during the Korean War. The man didn't know Dad was a veteran, but he was thankful nonetheless that the USA had sent men over to help them, fight and die for them...and he wanted to be able to thank someone from that generation. Dad told me that was the _FIRST_ time he had ever been thanked for his service! A complete stranger, on a street in a foreign country, thanking my Dad.

So, seeing first-hand how much honor, respect, and _GRATITUDE_ PGR shows to our veterans and their families, touched me to my core. Our veterans are priceless, and y'all are as well for the honor y'all show them.

An Example Of How What We Do Effects Others

I'm writing to let you know how much I appreciate The Patriot Guard riders that were serving in the Dallas National Cemetery on Monday, March 4th. My family and I were there to bury my oldest brother, Jimmy McCrory. Although the Patriot Guard was not there to assist us, as we passed 3 different groups on the way to our site, every single rider stopped what he or she was doing and saluted my brother's coffin as we passed. We were all so touched and honored that they would respect my brother like that even though they weren't there for his funeral. I just wanted to tell you all thank you for what you do and in particular for what y'all did for my brother - he would have loved it.

Sincerely,
Janis Wilson

On behalf of our son Chad, Don and I want to say "thank you" to you and the Patriot Guard for the escort of our Chad's home-going. Though Chad was not a service veteran, he was a vet at heart. He treasured, honored, respected and loved the men and women who served us and keep this country free. We were so honored at the only large outpouring for a non-vet by the Patriot Guard. His last text to me Saturday morning was, "we got a Marine who is having some problems, so Chris and I are going to get him out for the day." That act of kindness on their part resulted in their deaths. As the Guard stood at attention when Chad arrived at the church and the men and women escorted and encircled us at the cemetery, we were filled with pride as well as so confronted. Thank you again, men and women of the Patriot Guard. We salute you. We will never forget the honor you have bestowed upon our Chad and his family.

In His grip,
Don and Judy Littlefield
I too would like to thank you ALL for the honor my baby brother Chad Littlefield received to his resting place2/8/13. Like my mom and dad said Don and Judy Littlefield, He was NOT in the service in uniform, but he sure was a patriot loving those and caring for them who did. I'm 10 years his senior he use to say, but My Little hero was sure honored and loved by so many. thank you again for what you do.

Please allow me to convey my deepest and most reverent admiration for what you and those in your organization do with regard to your mission. Yours is a mission of compassion and protection, and one that you each complete with servant’s hearts.

I wish that I rode. I am seven feet tall and over five hundred pounds, so there aren’t bikes that support me. However, I wish I could convey in words the respect and admiration I have for those who serve in defense of our freedoms as American citizens, and as an outward show, to serve with you all.

God bless you sir, and your organization, and may He protect you in your selfless mission tomorrow. Chief Kyle is and was a great man, one whom we should all strive to emulate.

Godspeed.

As a member of the extended Littlefield family, I wanted to send you a quick thank you for your service yesterday at Chad's funeral. We were surprised to see your group since Chad was not an actual veteran, but we appreciate and recognize his assistance to service men through Chris. Your group was so respectful to our family- it was just a beautiful, heartbreaking day.

Thank you and the entire organization. What y'all do is amazing. Good luck on Monday.

I just wanted to write you a quick thank you for the beautiful job that you and the rest of the Patriot Guard Riders did at my grandfather Horace "Chief" Brooks funeral last week January 24. I know if he would have been there to see it he would have been in awe and just as happy as we were. I’ve never seen such an amazing sight at a funeral in my lifetime and it touched me to know that all of the PGR was there in support and memory of my grandfather and our family. You all did an amazing job and we were blessed to have you as a part of it. Please pass these words of thanks along to the other riders that were part of his ceremony.

Thank you again

I don't know how I could ever convey the gratitude my brother, sister and I have for the Patriot Guards. What your members did for mom was spectacular, awesome, fantastic, etc.......

She would have been very proud of her memorial and if she had ever dealt with your organization, I guarantee you, she would have said "sign me up, I'm helping too!"

God Bless each and everyone of you.

Dear North Texas Patriot Guard Riders,

I wanted to take some time to express my sincere gratitude for what you all do for the Veterans and their families.

My first experience with your organization was when I was assigned as a CAO last December to SGT Bobby Ray King, a Korean war vet whose remains were returned home after 61 years.

I was amazed by the outpouring of support from the Patriot Riders! Everything I had heard or had seen on the internet, couldn't prepare me for the level of professionalism, patriotism, and sincere concern for the deceased and the family. Without your involvement, it would have been a quiet internment...passing without much recognition. With your involvement, it made me feel proud to be an American Soldier and it bought honorable tribute to a deserving Soldier who paid the ultimate sacrifice to his country. The family, like myself, were besides themselves with pride and amazed at all of the details that went into your support.

From the escort, the pallbearing, the presentation of engraved plaques, the missing man formation at the cemetery, the flag guard, the condolences, and the respect paid...everything was unforgettable! And to think that it was all voluntary is what really hit my heart...it's something that is rare in today's society.

I am the Casualty Assistance Officer for another fallen Soldier, PFC Joseph Jennings, who was interned with your support and help last Tuesday. Even though the temperatures were freezing and the weather miserable, your members were there standing tall to provide honor to the Soldier and his family. You made all this happen with one days notice and I can't thank you enough for your involvement. Your presence was a huge comfort for the family.

I could go on forever on what your organization means to we Soldiers and more importantly to the families. I know many of you are Veterans and I thank you for your service and the unselfish service you still serve. Being assigned a CAO is a difficult duty but because of you all, you make our jobs a little easier.

Thanks again and keep up the awesome work!

Very Respectfully,
SFC Dylan Shaw

Hello, first of all I would like to thank your organization for the great job you guys do in honoring our fallen military men and women. My cousin's husband, Sgt. Thanks so much.

"The Patriot Guard

My Sympathy to you Patriots for standing, so bravely holding the Flag for Robert in the Cold Wind.  It is greatly appreciated of each and every one of you. I love you for it.

I again want to say "Thank You" to the 14 of you who were able to attend this Mission. It was a great turnout on a cold day, held so shortly  after Christmas. Any time you begin to think that what we do does not make a difference, re-read this note from the Wife of another American Hero. You people continue to make me proud to be a small part of this wonderful group.

Standing with the Patriot Guard,

A Year End Message from Snowball Express
Posted - 01/02/2013
As 2012 concludes, we wanted to send you a note to express our gratitude for your tremendous support of Snowball Express. On behalf of each member of our Snowball Express Board of Directors, I want you to know how deeply grateful we are for your tremendous service, participation and support. Very simply stated, we could not produce this event without the tremendous support of our volunteers.

The Snowball Express event happens because hundreds of people come together to participate in one of the most remarkable events in the world. When you stop to consider what goes in to the event, you quickly realize how truly remarkable and monumental your effort is. The Snowball Express event is one of the largest volunteer efforts in the world. It is the largest gathering of children and families of fallen military in the world. The event logistics span the globe. Thousands of volunteers work together from across the country to bring these families together to meet in one location for a series of very complex events and experiences that are created to honor them, provide communal healing, and give the children experiences that help then realize that they are loved and not alone. Together we also help build their confidence and self esteem, and through our combined efforts we help them know that their sacrifice and the ultimate sacrifice of their hero will never be forgotten.

The participation and support of our remarkable volunteers resulted in the most successful event in 7 years. You have changed and improved the lives of these very special children and their families. You have made a very positive difference in their lives. You have accomplished something great.

While a simple thank you is not sufficient enough to express how grateful we are for your service, please know how much we appreciate you.

Thank you and we wish you a happy new year and tremendously successful 2013.

Sincerely,

I had the privilege of being at a stopped cross street when your procession for SGT Enrique Mondragon went by in Dallas today. I wanted to thank you for what you and the other Patriot Guard Riders do in honoring our soldiers, especially those killed in action. I live in Boston and nothing like this takes place. It is great to know it is happening somewhere.

Thanks you,

I want to express my gratitude for Texas Patriot Guard’s participation in my Dad’s funeral. I served 33 years in the military. On a few occasions, I was one who provided comfort to the loss of loved ones. This time the tables were turned. I wasn’t sure how I’d react to the loss of my dad age 86. He was a WWII vet. He also gave many years of his time and efforts to the VA. Especially was the time he spent with Vets at the Dallas VA Hospital. A special ward that needed special care. He went every month. Bingo was the game. It was a little different one kept calling until everyone in the room bingo’ed and won their $.50.

Rusty, if I may call you that, it meant the world for Dad to buried at DFW. Your helping hand meant a lot to me. I remember getting out of the car and seeing a group of senior military men and women, standing at attention. Few might not have realized what was under the grey beards and blue jeans. I wasn’t fooled by their less than precise left face movements. What I saw was Patriots who’s love of country came beaming thru. They were a proud lot, happy to serve a fallen patriot. I was grateful as was our Blanchette family. Very impressive.

WELL DONE!

THANK YOU

Bob Blanchette, Lt Col, USAF, Ret
